Underground Water (Ngapa),, 2017
Acrylic on canvas
97 x 42 cm
This painting depicts the different underground waterholes (represented by the circles) that Janet's ancestors would have to find in the dry seasons in the central desert areas of Australia. Once the underground water was found, after drinking from it they would cover it up with branches and leaves so it would not be exposed to the elements such as the Sun and wildlife.
