About the Artists:

Biography:

Janet was born in Anninie, living a traditional life with her family. She was taught by her aunts the traditional body paint designs for her Dreaming.
Janet began to paint her traditional designs and Dreamings on canvas and board in 1989, when they became available in her community. She saw this as an important way of teaching people about her culture.
Janet also works as a linguist and literacy worker in her community. This background means that she aims to tell a story through her works and has developed a unique means of doing so.
Janet’s work has featured in a number of exhibitions and is included in many important collections.
