Jessie Pitjara Hunter Biography

Jessie was born in 1957 at MacDonald Downs and is a Wurundjeri Senior Elder. She was a batik artist at Utopia in the 1980s and is represented in the book 'Utopia - A Picture Story'. Haling from an artistic family, her siblings Sandy, Susie and Annie are also practicing artists and her mother Molly Pula is sister to artist Minnie Pwerle.

Like her sisters, Jessie's main dreamings are Awely (womems' body paint), Arawerre country, & sugar bag body design.
