Yidaki

Wood

Yidaki is the traditional musical instrument made by the Yolngu people from Eastern Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory. When a similar instrument is made by other Aboriginal clans, it is commonly known as a didgeridoo. Yidakis are often decorated with rarrking or cross hatching, indicative of Arnhem Land design, denoting their particular moiety.
