Didgeridoo
Wood
Originating in Arnhem Land this wind instrument was known as a "yidaki" and created by the Yolngu people but now it is commonly known as the didgeridoo and is found across Australia. Made from eucalyptus timber hollowed out by termites, the didgeridoo is perhaps the oldest musical instrument in the world. Ranging in length from 1-3 metres, the didgeridoo is used in ceremony and is intrinsic to Aboriginal culture and spirituality.
