Every dry season there are many fires throughout the Australian land. Some fires are started by nature but many are started by people to manage the land. Aboriginal people have been managing the land, plants and animals through cultural fire practice for over 60,000 years. This painting shows the first rains after the fires. The linear patterns represent the interesting patterns that form naturally after the fires from the elements and animals.
