This artwork reflects of the movement of the earth - a story original from my father, the late William King Jungala. Inspired by the harsh elements of my grandmother’s country, Kalkaringi. The layering of the piece is reflective of those who survived while fostering the next generation. Hidden by time yet playing a pivotal role in shaping today’s paths. The movement across the canvas bends and flows, balancing todays fast paced life with cultural ties always calling us home, and ensuring we carry our stories and traditions forward long after we too are welcomed back to the land.
