Inspired by a dance Kurun Warun learnt in the desert. Visualized in this painting is the hunter in the centre pursuing a kangaroo, also featuring the artist’s white ochre body paint, a snake and a goanna. The hunter trail follows the trail of the kangaroo foot prints across the surface. This painting, like many of Kurun Warun’s works is personal to his life as he depicts his own body paint and his 3 children in the top left corner observing the hunt/dance, secured by the breasts of the mother that nurtures the land.
This artwork is being featured on cars and merchandise in the Hidden Valley Raceway Supercars in Darwin 2025.
