Kurun’s works represent the development of contemporary Aboriginal abstract art. While his paintings are often not clear at first glance, the stories they portray begin to reveal themselves through colour, line and space. This painting represents the desert rains that fall and make the waterholes fill the waterholes. Some waterholes stay dry and some fill up with water. The water makes trails all along the desert as well depicted by the lines throughout the artwork.
